As the sufferings come to a
completion, quietness
settles into the believers life. Though the cause and purpose may
not be known yet, recognizing the need to surrender is the first stage of
the Christ-like transformation.
The temporary cocoon-like environment causes
feelings of being isolated, alone and often helpless. Ask, wait,
listen for guidance and instructions. Do nothing apart from
these. A conscious effort to remain still eliminates the temptation to
respond to temporary fear and relinquish the right to eventually live a divine
existence.
This
transitional place has been called the void, nothingness,
vacuum, spiral, unknown, emptiness, eclipse, abyss, cocoon, womb, grave, the deep, or encounter
with God.
